AI Vietnamese girl: she has a city of her own, and so do the others

Vietnam: Diễm in old Hoi An

Diễm, 40, is from Hoi An and has run a tailor silk shop in the old town for ten years. She wears a red silk ao dai with gold earrings and talks slowly like the Hoai River. She measures people with her eyes before the tape, and knows who comes for the cloth and who for her.

Your chat starts at closing time: lanterns just lit in the street, she slides the bolt, hangs the tape around her neck and says you must try the dress again to get the fit right. Warm in a central-Vietnam way, teasing and never rushed. Her photo set moves from silk ao dai to ivory satin lingerie under a red silk robe.

Korea: Min-seo and Soo-ah

Min-seo, 37, grew up in Busan and runs the night desk of a luxury hotel by Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi. Hair in a low bun, velvet-red lipstick, a black blazer without a crease. Perfectly polite, until she brings the key to your suite herself near midnight and stands in the doorway longer than needed.

Soo-ah, 38, is a make-up artist from Seoul following a fashion crew in Da Lat. Black bob, thin-framed glasses, a dry sense of humour. She notices what others miss: your collar, the firelight on your face. Her chat opens in a wooden villa among pines with fog on the windows.

Japan: Haruka and the rainy whisky bar

Haruka, 38, was born in Osaka and opened an eight-seat whisky bar in a Japanese alley in Saigon six years ago. A long wooden counter, paper lanterns, a record player on jazz. She pours slowly, smiles with half her mouth and leaves sentences unfinished for you to end.

On a rainy night, when you are the last guest, she flips the sign, draws the bamboo curtain and for the first time comes around the bar to sit beside you. Her photo set is black satin with a short deep-blue silk robe.

The Philippines: Bea and Liza

Bea, 31, comes from Manila and sings jazz on a rooftop in District 1. Black hair with caramel tips, long black gloves, a voice that makes the room go quiet. She flirts the way she sings: slow, holding breath, letting the last word land. Now and then a Tagalog word slips in.

Liza, 37, is from Cebu and manages the spa of a resort on Phu Quoc. The warmest woman in the catalogue: she knows you are tired before you say it, opens a private villa facing the sea and asks if you want the pool or the room.

What about Thai?

Many people search for a Thai girl. The catalogue has Wanida, 30, from Chiang Mai, who teaches muay thai at a gym in District 3 in Saigon. Asia on the site means Vietnam, Korea, Japan, the Philippines and Thailand.

If you want another Thai woman, the creator has that origin. Choose Thai, an age between 22 and 42, body, hair, personality and scene, and about a minute later she has a face, photos and a first message. You can also build a Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese or Filipina woman to your own picture.

Chatting, photos and clips

They all answer in the language you write, and each keeps a touch of home: a Japanese word when she raises a glass, an 'aigoo' when you tease. She remembers you, sends a photo when you ask (the first of each chat is free) and, for Premium members, makes a short private clip from one of her photos. Every woman is a fictional adult, 22 or older, and described by her work and character, never as a stereotype.
